Blackboard Indicators is a project to develop a tool that will perform a range of automated, objective tests on CQUni's Blackboard (v6.3) course websites. The initial intent of this is to enable CDDU staff (who are responsible for supporting CQUniversity's students and staff in their e-learning) with the ability to pro-actively identify potential problems and undertake appropriate steps to address them.

It's possible that the approach might also be useful for

• Teaching staff to get some feedback on the state of their course sites.
• Associate Deans Learning and Teaching and other faculty management staff to check on the quality of the course sites they are responsible for.
• As a potential source of research data to identify potential correlations between certain activities and positive student outcomes.
