Content analysis university e-learning implementation: The Ps Framework
Background
All around the world universities are making decisions around e-learning. Generally, it's a decision about which LMS they should adopt. It's our belief (at least one of us, anyway) that many of those evaluations are somewhat limited.
This work aims to find out whether or not the evaluations are limited and, if so, how they are limited.
To do this we're going to do a content analysis on as many reports/working parties etc from universities which document and justify the evaluation process they performed.
The content analysis will use and contribute to the "Ps Framework". A local produced framework for understanding components of such an evaluation. The "Ps framework" started life as the "missing Ps framework". More information can be found in the blog posts and this presentation

Basic process
- Define and explain the Ps framework in more detail
- David needs to do this
- Find as many documents around university evaluations of e-learning/lms
- We're generally relying on evaluations that are in the public domain - are on the web. Those we find are being tagged with "lmsEvaluations" on del.icio.us.
- Select some of them
- At some stage we need to figure out what mechanism we will use to select the evaluations we will use in the content analysis. We might, perhaps, use CQU's evaluation report recommending Blackboard from a couple of years ago as our first test.
- Perform the content analysis
- We need to formulate the specific process we'll use. Initially we probably need to gather resources and more information. We'll tag with "contentAnalysisBasics" ("contentAnalysis" is already being heavily used).
