Study Guide integration with Course site
Contents |
Purpose
This page explains how CQU staff can incorporate electronic versions of study guides into the course websites (both Blackboard and Webfuse).
If you have any questions, please direct them to Helpdesk where a team of people will be able to help you.
Assumptions
- Only for new study guides.
DTLS introduced a new process for creating study guides for T1, 2009. One reason for this new process was to automatically create an electronic version of the study guide. These instructions only apply for study guides that have been through that process. - You have permission to edit the course website.
- You know the URL for your electronic study guide.
Those study guides which exist for T1, 2009 can be found on this web page.
Process for Moodle course sites
The eStudyGuides will be available for Moodle, if you go to the eStudyGuide list page, you'll find instructions alongside the list of available eStudyGuides.
Process for Blackboard course sites
You can work through the following process:
- a) Copy the URL for your eStudyGuide
- Go to this web page
- Click on the link for your course.
If the course number isn't on the page, then there isn't an eStudyGuide for it. This might mean that it wasn't produced using the new process, or that it hasn't been completed yet. - Copy the URL
- b) Identify where on your course website you will place the link.
- Go to your course website
One simple way to do this is to
- Go to Staff MyCQU
- Search for the course in the list shown
If it doesn't appear, then you probably don't have permission to modify the site. - Click on the link "Course Website"
- Identify where in your course website you want to add the link
The most common options are either from the course menu (the list of buttons down the left hand side of the Blackboard page) or within one of the folders. - Add it
Chapter 3 of the Staff Blackboard Manual provides some detail about how to do this.
- Go to your course website
- c) If you did not link to the study guide from the course menu please tell us where you put the link
This is so we can modify the eStudyGuide to better fit within your course site.
